Where the action is

I know that things have been a bit slow around here, but it's not my fault!

Treater and Napper keep taking off and leaving me overnight. Then they bring back a bunch of stuff that looks familiar but doesn't smell familiar. I remember seeing this stuff at the house where I used to live. I wonder if they'll bring that house next? (heehee)

Treater says they have to go again in a couple of days to sign a bunch of papers that will say that the house belongs to somebody else! That makes me sad 'cause I really liked that house. Of course, I liked the other house we used to live in, too. I didn't like the hotel-place that we lived in for a little while between houses. This apartment's not too bad, either. Lots of stuff happens outside that big glass door.

Anyway, while they're gone, they think that I'm lazy and sleep all the time. They don't realize that I throw open the doors and have a PAR-TAY when I'm here alone! So, anyway, they'll be gone overnight again soon.

Can you say PAR-TAY, anyone?

RIP, Socks

Socks the Cat died today after a bout with cancer. He was 20 years old (some sources say he was 18 years old). Rest in Peace, Socks.

My toys

I love my toys!

I love my springy worm thingy.

I love my little 'nip fishies.

I love my leather strap.

I love my new ribbon.

I love my little sparkly balls (the ones that were a gift from Orion).

I don't want anyone else playing with them, so I hid them.

I hid them really good.

Uh, *blush* I also seem to have forgotten where I hid them.

All of them.

This calls for a plan of action.

Or inaction.

Never

Never, never, never. No way. Nope. Forget about it.

It won't work.

My Valentine Surprise

I was minding my own business, peeking out the glass doors, watching the goings-on out there., when I heard Treater come in from the mailbox. (Treater here: Spooky, I don't think that being nosy and watching everyone outside can be considered "minding one's own business!")

Oh. Well, anyway, she said that I had mail! I asked her who in the world had sent something to ME!?!?

She just grinned, and opened the box end, and set it on the floor next to me. I had to check this out!

Oh, my goodness gracious! It's from Orion!

It's full of all sorts of good things...like toys and a really warm and cozy fleece and Temptations and - oh! - a Valentine card!

The fleece was tied with this really nifty ribbon, too.

The fleece looks great - and feels great - on top of my footstool. The ribbon and toys are good there, too...well, unless I'm chasing them around, that is.

Orion - and Meowm, too - I want to thank you very, very, very much for my wonderful Valentine's Day gifts. You are so thoughtful and sweet and cute, too.

Junior and Orion's Meowm bought these nice gifts before Meowm found out that she was getting laid off from work. Junior and Orion love having her home, but she needs to find a really good job so that she can feed the boys (and herself). Purr really hard that everything gets better for her.

Meanwhile, I've got to get things ready...I hear that Orion is teleporting over for a visit after they get Meowm settled in.

Outside the glass door

Treater caught me staring at something through the window this morning.
What do you think I was watching?

Remember that silly little cat, Bebe, who lives in the apartment across the breezeway from me?
She was outside!
She was on my table and on my patio and snooping around my stuff!

Then she found something on my patio and started playing with it.
I wanted out there, too.
She's playing with my stuff on my patio.
She's having fun and I'm on the wrong side of this glass door.

(She's got a pretty floofy tail, don't you think?)
I wish I could play outside.

Awards

I received a couple of awards last week from Junior and Orion (*sigh*). I really had to keep after Treater to get her to sit down and help with posting 'em. Treater's been super-busy around here...things look very interesting. I think something's going on, but she's not giving me the scoop yet. Perhaps soon.

Annnnywaaaaay, down to business. The first award:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

The second award:

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight kitties who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

Now, I'm not exactly sure what they mean, but I think it's good...and receiving an award is always a good thing. I'm supposed to pass this on to eight fellow cats, but I think that if you read this, you should consider yourself tagged.

Treater may be busy lately, but I'm sure not. I've been taking advantage of all this sunshine that's streaming in through the big window. I didn't even help her with today's warm, fresh-out-of-the-dryer laundry today.

Well, there was a little excitement yesterday, and it wasn't necessarily good. I do not like to be picked up. I hate it! I'm afraid of high places and being carried by a person just isn't fun for me.

Well, daggone it...I ran to greet Napper yesterday morning and when I jumped up on the footstool to talk to him, he picked me up! He carried me through this apartment and even brought me to Treater. I asked Treater for help, but she just rubbed my ears and laughed at me.

Napper took me back to the footstool and set me down and walked off. That was weird. I shook and shook and stared at him, but he walked off. Okay. So maybe that wasn't so bad.

Maybe.

*yawn* Okay, I think I'll head back to that sunny spot. *stretch* Later, ya'll.

Doing my part

On laundry day this week, I told Treater that I would help. After all, there's nothing quite like warm clothes straight out of the dryer. She turned the basket of warm linens onto the bed and started to make it up. I let her know there was no hurry...I would cool those linens off first by taking a good long nap.

I think she liked the excuse to put off that chore for a while.

Later, she pulled out the big loud sucky machine. I don't much care for that and I usually leave the room. However, I was in my stealth-protection mode, watching the gigantic birdies outside who were walking around in the rain. It's my job to protect our 'partment from Gigantic Birdie Attack. I told Treater that she could do that chore later. This was more important.

She agreed and finished reading her book.
